Dentists
Dr. Stephanie Malette
The preeminence of Dr. Malette’s practice is demonstrated in its warm and friendly customer service while operating in a state-of-the-art dental environment. Her patients often comment that she is a “meticulous perfectionist” who offers the highest level of skill along with a friendly and optimistic personality. Dr. Malette will impress you with her friendly demeanor, confidence and ability. She is well-versed in treating patients with complex dental problems. Dr. Malette puts her patients at ease with her gentle confidence and provides them with the highest level of care, respect and efficiency. She listens to her patients concerns and needs and is sensitive to each client’s individual requests. When not working, Dr. Malette loves to travel with her family and enjoys skiing, hiking and the outdoors.
Dr. Rémi Morin was born and raised in Kapuskasing, Ontario. Rémi graduated with an honours degree in Biology at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Wanting to work in a more hands on field of health care, he then went on to study dentistry at the University of Montreal. After working a year in North Bay, Rémi is now thrilled to be a part of the team at Blackburn Dental Centre and enjoy all the great amenities and attractions that Ottawa has to offer. Dr Morin is always focused on patient comfort and has developed a reputation for having a gentle touch. One of Dr. Morin’s greatest joys in dentistry is the personal fulfillment he experiences from impacting a life by providing excellent dental care for his family of patients, both young and old.
Dr. Pascale Beaudry began her studies with an International Study Program at Collège-Esther Blondin. She then continued her studies in Joliette at the Cegep Regional de Lanaudière. Followed by University of Montreal for her Doctorate of Dental Medicine, where she was recognized by the International College of Dentists for her academic excellence as well as harmonious relations with peers, staff and patients. Dr. Beaudry rounded off her education with a dental humanitarian trip to Mexico. Dr. Beaudry’s kind, gentle manor ensures the perfect balance of comfort and confidence in all her patients.
Hygienists
Nancy graduated from La Cite Collegiale in 1996 in the dental hygiene program. She is very gentle and caring while attending patients' needs. Nothing is more important to Nancy than being able to provide patients with the highest quality care possible. Nancy is registered and in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, as well as a member of The Canadian Dental Hygienists Association and Ottawa Dental Hygienist’s Society.
She enjoys attending continuing education courses and reading dental hygiene journals to allow her to provide the most accurate and current information to patients. Nancy enjoys spending her free time with her family and three children.
Isabelle graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 2008 from La Cité Collégiale and has enjoyed working in the profession over the last 14 years. She made a difficult decision to leave a downtown clinic after 10 years. Happy to leave the morning and evening commute behind. She truly believes there is always more to learn, and strives to be a better Dental Hygienist daily. Isabelle knows that Lisa has left very big shoes for her to fill, and we are certain she is up for the challenge. Be sure to ask her about her dog Dyson and her love of fishing.
Michelle is a graduate of Fanshaw College with diplomas in Pre-Health Sciences and Level 2 Dental Assisting. After working as a Dental Assistant for a period of time, Michelle took some time to travel while working on a cruise ship before settling in Vancouver for a few years. Continuing with her love of personal interaction with people, Michelle returned to Ottawa to attend the Canadian National Institute of Health, graduating as a Dental Hygienist in 2014. Very quickly realizing that for her, the most fulfilling part of working as a health care provider is knowing that with her knowledge and expertise, she has helped someone improve their oral health.
Michelle now lives in Blackburn Hamlet. Be sure to say hello to her and her Shepadoodle, Raven, if you see them at the dog park or jogging in the neighborhood.
Dental Assistants
Angela graduated from Cité Collégiale and completed the level II training in dental assisting. Over the last 14 years, she continued to do further training and courses to acquire more knowledge on the latest dental treatments. She is fluent in English, French and Portuguese. She also speaks “un poco de espanol." As a busy mother of two, she likes to do yoga and exercise in her spare time. She also loves to cook with her husband (a foodie) and travel when they get the chance.
Anna is no stranger to Blackburn Dental Centre. We first met Anna as a patient when she was 4 years old. After living with her family in South Africa and Sri Lanka, Anna returned to Ottawa and completed her Dental Assisting Level 1 and 2 at Algonquin College, where she also played for the women’s rugby club. Becoming a member of the team at Blackburn Dental Centre for her student placement. Officially joining the team after graduating. With a love of working with people, you may bump into Anna in her retail job, when she’s not at Blackburn Dental Centre.
Office Manager
Kendra has a Development Services Worker diploma from Algonquin College as well as a Degree from Ryerson University in Disability Studies. She has worked in the field of education as well as finance, finally landing in dentistry in 2008. After many years with a dental corporation in administration and management, Kendra decided to return to a private practice, joining the team at Blackburn Dental Centre.
Administrative Assistant
Sarah graduated from Algonquin College in 2014 with a diploma in Medical Office Administration. Upon completion of the program, Sarah joined a family physicians office as the sole administrator, mastering the art of multitasking. Looking for a new challenge and adventure where she could continue to use her strong foundation and skill set, Sarah joined Blackburn Dental Centre. What Sarah enjoys most about her role is getting know patients while helping them with their needs.
Sarah enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog Winston, the Gordon Setter.
