Endodontics

Root canal (or Endodontic) therapy refers to the process where your dentist removes the inflamed or infected pulp (or root) of the tooth, carefully cleans and shapes the inside, then fills and seals the space.

The objective of a root canal is to keep your natural teeth as a healthy foundation for chewing and biting for years to come.

How does endodontic treatment save the tooth?

Your dentist removes the inflamed or infected pulp, carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the tooth, then fills and seals the space.

  • Swelling of the gum adjacent to the tooth.
  • Tenderness of the tooth especially to biting or adjacent gums.
  • Sometimes there are no symptoms and the first sign of a problem maybe radiographic evidence coroborated with additional diagnostic testing by your dentist.
